Vehicle Technician – Oakmere Motor Group, Northwich
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team at Oakmere Motor Group in Northwich.
Established in 1978 as a Lotus specialist, we are an authorised dealer for Toyota, Mazda, Morgan, Caterham, Norton, CCM, and Microlino. We are also an approved service centre for Lotus and Volkswagen, providing expert maintenance and support.

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Servicing and Repairs
- Carry out scheduled vehicle services and repairs in accordance with manufacturer technical standards.
- Diagnose and repair non-routine defects, either in the workshop or during road tests, using technical knowledge and experience.
- Inspect vehicles and report defects in line with MOT and Vehicle Safety Report (VSR) standards.
- Complete jobs within the budgeted time set out on job cards to maintain efficiency and productivity.
- Adhere to all workshop and dealership Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and tidiness in collaboration with colleagues.
- Take responsibility for daily maintenance of workshop equipment, reporting any defects or issues that require attention.
Quality and Efficiency
- Follow key processes to achieve high-quality workmanship and efficiency targets.
- Work with the team to develop and refine workshop processes for improved performance.
Customer Interaction
- Engage with customers to discuss work required or completed, answering any questions they may have.
- Provide clear and detailed technical explanations at a level suited to the customer’s understanding.
- Listen attentively to customers, building rapport and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Team Support and Development
- Provide guidance and coaching to apprentice technicians, offering step-by-step instruction during repairs and allowing them to participate in tasks.
- Assist and support colleagues who may be less experienced with certain vehicles or technologies.
Training and Development
- Attend regular training sessions to update technical skills and stay informed about new vehicle technologies and workshop equipment.
Team Collaboration
- Work as part of a cohesive team, ensuring seamless customer service across all departments.
- Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities to the appropriate team members.
- Report technical issues using established procedures.
